HandLetterHou, The Black Sheep Agency
Together with The Black Sheep Agency and HandLetterHou monthly meeting, we donated our time to Better Make Room campaign, The First Lady Michelle Obama’s initiative to inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by completing their education past high school, whether at a professional training program, a community college or a four-year college or university.
We created an original art using student statements posted on bettermakeroom.org. Each participating letterer picked out a student statement and designed a graphic treatment to visually showcase it.
To generate scholarships, the campaign is collaborating with Zazzle.com to build a Better Make Room online store that sells this community-sourced artwork on posters, mugs, t-shirts, cards, phone cases and a lot of other stuff. Proceeds will go into scholarship funds distributed by Civic Nation (the nonprofit housing the Better Make Room campaign). Scholarships will support students going into a variety of careers, including the arts.

In May 2017, The Black Sheep Agency in Houston- TX asked me to work on their slate as part of a monthly chalkboard mural series, Blank Slate. As a cause-driven agency, I had to create a piece that focuses on a cause I’m passionate about and use the wall to advocate for it.
As a feminist myself, I had no choice but to talk about it.
“Supergirl” is about women’s empowerment, spreading respect and empathy that feminism teaches us all. I wanted to use bright colors and shapes as part of my other project “In Your Face”. The text was written in modern calligraphy.

Seeing a favorite band live is one of my hobbies. I love to be the closest I can to the stage so I can really feel the party of that gig. Those are a few of the best concerts I’ve ever been to so far. That’s my way to make it more memorable.
Pelo Zero Depilação is one of the biggest wax centers in Brazil. Worked with them from 2003 until 2010 and during this time they opened 10 new stores, including one in Portugal.
Summer is the busiest season of the company and this campaign was my last work with them. Together with the marketing communication team, we created two combos with one free service + gift.
This campaign also included casting, photo direction, and art direction.
